Gender Bender

I recently looked up the term metrosexual and the definitions I came across described a man who has a high disposable income, lives or works in the city, is overly concerned with his appearance (e.g. vain, loves to shop, gets manicures, laser hair removal, etc.) and who displays attributes stereotypically associated with women or homosexual men (that is, NOT stereotypical male qualities). Indeed, modern day life in NYC has definitely blurred gender lines to such an extent that I know certain self-proclaimed Casanovas who are so in touch with their feminine side and/or exhibit such a sense of style that every woman (and non-metrosexual guy) I know is convinced that they are gay. I often wonder if they realize that is the looming question every time they walk away from hitting on a girl.

But, there is the flip side of the coin that no one talks about – the Alpha Female who is as equally unappealing to the men, Ladies, as the uber-metrosexual male is to you. Certainly, we all know her though none of my male clients want to meet her. she is more often than not successful, self-reliant, loud-spoken, opinionated and domineering. she may even be hot with a killer body, wearing a mini-skirt and a garter belt underneath but ultimately she is still exuding a masculine energy and a harshness that is just not attractive. and while no guys are wondering if she is gay when she walks away, they are happy to let her leave. Then they turn their attention to the foreign cutie in the corner or the girl at the bar with the soft Southern accent and enjoy being in the presence of a graceful and sexy woman.

Yes, Ladies, another Don’t Shoot the Messenger blog: I hear far too many men complain that New York women simply do not know how to be feminine. and this is really such a shame because femininity is appealing, femininity is sexy and exuding femininity can often be much more powerful than bulldozing your dates, co-workers, etc. with masculine energy.

Unfortunately, this city breeds a certain type of Alpha Female who thinks that power is found in speaking in harsh, loud, strident tones (yes, there is a New York way of speaking a la Bethenny Frankel that simultaneously indicates that the speaker will cut you down to size and castrate you and then tell all of her friends about it). this way of speaking may or may not get results in the office, but in regard to dating scientific studies show that it is not effective as men consistently rate women as more attractive when they speak in a pleasant tone of voice. so, Ladies, why not give it a try – speak in a softer voice and see if you don’t notice a little more chivalrous treatment.

Indeed, these same Alpha Females can often be observed virtually marching down the street, office hallway, etc. when they could benefit immensely from walking with a bit of finesse and grace. just the other week I was talking with a guy friend who commented that he is always drawn to European women because they just know how to move better than New York women. something to think about, Ladies.

Equally unappealing, these Alpha Females are often know-it-alls on their dates. they know everything about sports, everything about finance, everything about EVERYTHING and there isn’t possibly anything these guys can teach them because, well, they know everything. After a date like that, imagine what a breath of fresh air it is for a guy when he meets a woman who shows curiosity and appreciation for the things he wants to share with her (as I have had to explain to some of my female clients, men like to teach – let them).[1] unlike their Latin sisters who typically go out of their way to make a man feel like a man and who know when to let him take charge of a situation (e.g. to protect those around him – a very natural male instinct), many New York women make sure the guy knows that they intend to wear the pants in the relationship and the pants will be Prada. while the metrosexual male may want to get into those Prada pants, that’s about it.

Now please know that I am not saying that women should be penalized for being smart, successful and having opinions. To the contrary, the men with whom I speak are very attracted to women who can counter a fun loving jibe with a witty retort or who can beat them in a game of tennis or golf. Let’s be crystal clear – the quality guys I know are definitely not looking for a doormat. What I am saying, however, is that it’s no surprise that a guy will often forgo this metrosexual equivalent female emitting masculine, harsh energy and who thinks it’s funny and cool that she doesn’t know how to cook to instead choose spending time with a woman who is sweet, supportive, appreciative, graceful, feminine and can occasionally prepare a dish or two.

The unfortunate reality is that sometimes it’s necessary for women here to adopt a tough exterior to survive in the dog eat dog world of corporate New York. However, Ladies, if you learn how to skillfully flip the switch and leave your Alpha Female in the office you will likely see a whole new response from the men around you. as I stated in my First Date Tool Box Lecture, men don’t want to date a man (at least the straight ones don’t) – where’s Jean Nate when you need it?[2]

[1] an additional piece of advice: men love women who know how to let the man lead on the dance floor. By following, it doesn’t mean you are subservient, it just means that you recognize that you can’t have two people leading and dance well together

[2] for those readers who aren’t children of the 70s, Jean Nate was a famous ad campaign where the protagonist entered the ad swishing her hair and singing how she could bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan and never let you forget she was a woman – ah, the memories

Vera Wang Perfume – The Ultimate Perfume Guide

Best known for her line of wedding dresses, Vera Wang is a fashion designer based out of new York. Born in 1949 to affluent Chinese immigrants, Wang first aspired to Olympic figure skating but found her calling while working as an editor for Vogue Magazine and, later, as a design director for Ralph Lauren. her perfume line, which also includes body creams, body lotions, body powders and bath and shower creams is yet another testament to the icon’s fashion and beauty genius.

Vera Wang, the signature fragrance in the collection, is perfect for daytime or casual wear. It blends delicate florals with a soft, powdery essence and sparkling aldehydes to create a mature fragrance that works well for both spring and fall use.

For a fully floral aroma, try either Sheer Veil or Truly Pink. Each offers a unique sense of singular floral scent that blossoms into a vast array of mixed aromas as if creating a bouquet of smells. Again, use casually for day wear or even for nonspecific evening events. Sheer Veil incorporates nuances of violet and lavender, as well as gardenia and white lily, while Truly Pink is based in the aroma of white freesia and apricot, peony and pink rose, with an undertone of creamy woods.

One of the newest Vera Wang perfumes, launched in 2009, is Rock Princess, created for a more vigorous, outgoing personality. With glam and trendy tones, this fruity and floral blend incorporates peach, raspberry, rose, jasmine, and cashmere, packaged in an attractive faux stone motif. Also catch hints of bergamot, heliotrope, and lily in this fresh new aroma.

Vera Wang look is an expressive scent, with a more classical glamorous appeal. Held in a glass pris bottle, you’ll find it filled with notes of watery greens, golden apple, and mandarin as soon as you open it, with hints of freesia, jasmine, musk, vanilla, and oak moss wafting out as time progresses, giving you a clear sense of its hearty base. excellent for evening wear, this is a well blended, aromatic fragrance for any audience.

Wang’s eye for detail and style shines out from her fragrance collection, not only in the composition of the perfume, but in the shape of the bottles and the colors and presentation of the packaging. for example, the Princess line of perfumes are encapsulated in gorgeous heart shaped bottles which look great placed on a dressing table, even when empty.

Balla Powder Vs Fresh Balls

I recently got an email from a fan asking me about a fairly new product called Fresh Balls. I have heard about this product before, but really did not pay any attention as I knew that Balla Powder is the most superior product for keeping your balls dry. But none the less, I decided to do a little research on Research on Fresh Balls and see what all the hype is about.

Fresh Balls is a deodorant creme that you must apply to your hand and then apply to the area that you would like to keep clean. this is all well and good, but not the most pleasant experience if you would like to use it to keep your backside area clean and fresh. I can’t see applying that directly by hand to be a pleasant experience during your morning routine. so I think Balla Powder definitely has Fresh balls beat in this area.

The next thing I looked at were the ingredients in Fresh Balls and compare them to the ingredients in Balla Powder. so here are both of the ingredients side by side.

Balla Powder Ingredients: Talc, Zinc Oxide, Zinc Stearate, Fragrance.

Fresh Balls Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Ethyl Macadamiate, Tapioca Starch, Carbomer, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Polysorbate-60 (Plant Derived), Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate (Natural Preservative), Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyl Dimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Tetrahydroxypropyl Ethylenediamine, Squalane, vena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin (Plant Derived Preservative), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil.

My general train of thought is that if can’t pronounce and ingredient, you should not feel comfortable applying to your testicles each and every morning. Very few cosmetic or bathroom based products are ever approved by the FDA and neither our Balla Powder or Fresh Balls. But if I had to apply a product to by balls and gentital area, I would definitely use the one with ingredients I can pronounce and have been used for centuries to keep people dry (Talc).

The next comparison between these two men’s drying and deodorant based products is price. how much does Freach Balls and Balla Powder cost when compared to each other?

Fresh Balls – $14.99 for 3oz ($5 per oz)

Balla Powder – $14.99 for 3.5oz ($4.29 per oz)

So based on price both Fresh balls and Balla Powder are pretty similar in price (Balla Powder being a little cheaper per oz.)

But the net weight of the products can be deceiving. 3oz of liquid is not going to last as long as 3.5oz of powder. Considering that you will probably use a less than a gram per use when applying Ball Powder, I can say pretty confidently that you will get way more applications with a tube of Ball Powder over a tube of Fresh Balls.

The next comparison for these two men’s products are how they work at keeping you dry. I’ll keep this comparison short. I have used Ball Powder for years living in a hot and humid climate (Florida) and Ball Powder has never let me down. I am always dry and fresh all day long. so I have no need to try Fresh Balls.

On a side note, I will not apply any product to a part of my body so important (Balls) with ingredients that I cannot pronounce or spell. As the FDA does not review and approve deodorant based products, neither Fresh Balls or Ball Powder have been reviewed or approved. so while choosing a product to keep my boys and backside dry and fresh all day, I chose the product that has simple natural ingredients and works flawlessly.

Using Oil Instead of Talc for Waxing

Traditionally when waxing is taught students are advised to apply a layer of talcum powder to the area being waxed. This achieves several things, it keeps the area dry, it makes the treatment a little more comfortable as the wax will stick to the hairs rather then the skin.

The use of an oil may seem a little unusual as we are taught to use a pre-wax cleanser to remove dirt and oils from the skin before waxing. But once therapists have tried waxing with oil they rarely return to powder.

The oil works by providing a lipid barrier between the skin and the wax – in essence a very thin oil barrier. Since the wax doesn’t adhere to the skin its removal is easier and less painful for the client. When using oil for intimate waxing where the skin is very thin and fragile this helps reduce the risk of abrasions or skin lifting.

It is important to choose an appropriate oil, ideally a very light oil. if the oil is too thick or heavy you will find the wax won’t adhere. I personally find that Perron Rigot Jasmin Oil is one of the best products around for this.

When using an oil before applying wax you need to remember the rule of thumb less is more, it needs to be used very sparingly. Prepare the area of the client to be waxed with a pre-waxing cleanser such as Perron Rigot Blue Lotion and then apply a tiny amount of oil to your hands – just a few drops. Cover the palms of your hands and then rub the oil over the area you are preparing to wax.

Remember you are only applying a sparse covering, if you find you have put too much oil on the skin just wipe over with a wax strip or piece of couch roll. You will find that this can leave a perfect amount of oil on the skin.

When applying the wax to the skin if you find that it doesn’t adhere to the skin and slips around don’t panic. just remove the wax as you would normally and then wipe over the area with a wax strip.

When waxing large or intricate areas you may find that you need to add more oil as you go on to keep the skin protected. Don’t worry about applying too much, you can always wipe any excess off.

Oil can also be used as a great post wax product when using warm strip waxes for removing any sticky residue. Once you have finished waxing, before you apply your post wax lotion or product apply a generous amount of oil to your hands and rub over the area, then use your cleanser product on a cotton pad to remove the oil and wax residue. Once cleansed you can apply your chosen post wax product.

To recap, for use before waxing use sparingly, for after waxing use generously.

What Is Talc/Talcum Powder?

Talc or Talcum Powder is a mineral that is naturally found in nature. Talc is one of the softest know minerals and can be easily scratch with a fingernail. the chemical name for Talc or Talcum Powder is hydrated magnesium silicate. Talc also goes by the name Soapstone.

Talc has many uses in all aspects of life and commercial business. some uses for Talc or Talcum Powder are Paint, Ceramics, Plastics and Personal Drying Powders. Talc Powder is also used in mold inhibiting agents and Textiles. If you are a fan of Balla Powder, you are most likely aware that Talcum Powder is used in Balla Powder to create the worlds best Men’s Talcum Powder.

One of the great attributes of Talcum powder is that it is great at absorbing moisture. It is an incredibly fine powder when ground down and this helps give it the ability to absorb moisture from the skin. the main ingredient in Balla Powder is Talc, in the form of Talcum Powder. This means that when you apply Balla Powder you are helping to keep your skin dry and comfortable when you sweat. Balla Powder is especially formulated to keep your Groin and Genital area dry, fresh and smelling clean.

Another great benefit of applying talc or talcum powder to the skin is that by keeping your skin dry, you reduce the risk of getting a rash of chaffing due to moisture on the skin which causes rubbing and friction.

So where does Talc come from? Talc is mined out of the earth as are most minerals found in products today. Talc is dug out of the ground in large mines and then is ground into a fine powder. Grinding Talc is not very hard as it is one of the softest materials known to man. on the Ohm scale, which measure a minerals hardness ranks minerals in hardness from 1-10. Talc registers a whopping 1 on the scale. while diamonds on the other hand rank at an impressive 10.

Once the Talc is ground into a fine powder, it is thoroughly cleaned and filtered for any impurities. after it has been cleaned and filtered, it is packaged and ready for commercial applications.

Some of the latest followers into the Men’s Powder and Men’s groin sweat products market do not use talc at all. most of these imitators use Corn starch which is a cheap alternative to talcum powder. a few others have started using chemicals that I cannot pronounce, so I cannot comment on their safety or effectiveness. Balla Powder decided a long time ago not to go the route of cheaping out on the materials that make up Balla Powder. they believe that using a natural quality ingredient was the best way to go. Obviously that was the right decision, due to the overwhelming success of the Balla Powder brand and line up.

So now that you know a little more about Talc and Talcum powder, We hope that you will go with the natural choice and choose Balla Powder for your Groin drying needs.

Why doesn't the US stop helping China?

I have herd so many people that are from China in my high school talk about how much they hate the USA and how much everyone ove there just hates us so much. and I know it's true. Bt it doesn't make any sense. we give them so much forigen aid. so much of it its not even funny. they make billions off of us every year, and we are nothing but nice to them, well, you know what I mean. if they don't like the US, they need to shhutup and get out. why are they here then? Because their country is still half 3rd ,world, and a peice of crap. It just angers me. if they aren't even our ally we shouldn't give them anything. if were so "stupid and dumb" then we wouldn't be paying them all this morny, and be bigger than them, and have so much more stuff than them. Not to mention that WE are paying for there schools.

Why do we still help them?

I don't hate USA,I like hollywood,maybe some youth hate(age below 20)

The Chinese Crested Powderpuff

Appearance

This breed of dog is becoming more and more popular in the world of celebrity. This breed comes in two varieties including the very strange looking hairless variety and the Powderpuff. the hairless variety is the type that people tend to remember, mainly due the fact that they have hair on the head, tail, ears and feet but not on their body (although this is actually a misconception as they are actually covered with a thin downy hair that is difficult to see).

The Chinese Crested Powderpuff is covered with a thick long coat that is the same length all over the body. Both varieties are very small and graceful with a domed shaped head and with ears that are triangular and stick up on either side of the head. the tail should run parallel to the ground when the dog is on the move and curl up over the back when stationary.

Temperament

This breed are very intelligent which makes them easier to train. they are great with children and love to be part of a family. Due to their size and stature you do need to be careful when introducing them to small children and other dogs as they are easily injured. This breed tend to bond with one or two members of the family and will often pine for the family member when they have gone out. Due to the fact that they do need allot of attention and need to be around people all the time they can be difficult to re-home. If you are a career minded person and work long hours then we don’t recommend that you get a Chinese Crested Powderpuff as they may suffer from anxiety related problems when left for long periods on their own.

Health Problems

All dogs can suffer from health problems at some point in their life but some breeds are more susceptible to certain ailments. This breed are more prone to…

  • Skin problems – especially allergies to clothes and garments including wool and lanolin.
  • Teeth problems due to their teeth not developing properly
  • Legg Calve Perthes is another problem that this breed are more susceptible to. This is when the femur has started to degenerate causing mobility issues and pain.
  • The Chinese Crested Powderpuff can also suffer from Patellar Luxation which is when the kneecaps start to dislocate.
