The History of Davidoff Cigars

It is truly a shame that these cigars are no longer available. because of a dispute between Cubatobaco and Oettinger the production of Davidoffs in Havana ceased in March of 1990 and the brand moved it’s operation to the Dominican Republic.

Rather than try to recreate the flavorsof their former cigars they instead set out to raise the bar when it came to what people expect of a Dominican Cigar.

His marketing skills helped transform his family business into a very prosperous venture and soon with his invention of the very first desktop cigar named Humidor, there was no looking back. He also was successful in his writing ventures and brought out books on Cuban cigar brands and cigar smoking.

The year 1969 saw the launch of the first Davidoff cigars with collaboration with a Cuban manufacturer. With some problems with the Cuban producer and big controversies Davidoff soon put an end to the line of Cuban cigars and ventured further to explore new possibilities and success was by his side all through.

Davidoff is a name to reckon with in the world of tobacco products, cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobaccos. The 14th of January 1994 saw the demise of Zino Davidoff but he has left behind a legacy that would go on for a long time to come.
