Perfumes For Your Wedding Day

Perfumes should be regarded with the same attitude as outfits. Not every outfit in your closet suits every occasion you attend. the same rule applies to perfume – not every perfume suits every occasion. We all tend to have a signature perfume – the one we favor most and most often wear, but there are occasions that call for something a little more exotic, or subtle.

Choosing a perfume or fragrance for your wedding day that is just right might need a little help from the experts. You will probably want something different for your special day. your choice will probably depend on what type of wedding you have arranged and the dress you have chosen.

1) A country wedding held in a garden will bring thoughts of flowers and grass. your choice of perfume would be floral, but soft, as you will not want to compete with the flowers in the garden surrounding you. Amarige by Givenchy is classified as a floral perfume, as it has a blend of violets, mimosa and orange flowers combined with sweet spices and fruity notes.

2) You might be planning a very romantic wedding with a fairytale dress with long train, horse carriage and all the trimmings to go with it – then you might consider wearing a romantic perfume. There are a number of perfumes that are recommended for romantic occasions, and are well worth testing at your local perfume counter.

3) Planning a casual wedding?then you will want a light perfume. look for a soft subtle perfume that will not overwhelm a casual occasion. Test it at your nearest perfume counter before you make a final choice.

Never buy a perfume before you have tested it on your skin

Perfumes don’t have the same effect on every one’s skin as it depends on the chemistry of the skin, age and diet of the person, so should first be tested. allow at least an hour after spraying perfume on the back of the hand before you make a decision.

The Narcissist’s Excessive Extravagance

The narcissist is constantly restless, never at peace with himself even though he/she may appear to be self satisfied and confident. Narcissists have difficulty living in the moment. They are always planning and plotting their next big win, their next acquisition, their victory over rivals and competitors.

Narcissists live in a delusion that protects them from reality. They successfully create their own world. the narcissist is constantly hungry for an ego fix. the satiation of his hunger takes innumerable forms. Material acquisition is an essential part of his answer. is it the next perfect residence (when he owns five others) a second or third private plane, a custom built yacht, a helicopter, a more attractive partner. Extravagent lifestyles offer the narcissist the perfect package to assert his sense of grandiosity, self entitlement and superiority.

I have known a number of individuals who lead highly self indulgent lives. This does not mean that these people are always narcissists. I offer a brief vignette to add flavor and color to the narcissist’s lifestyle. I am speaking about an affluent couple who spend most of their waking and sleeping lives on luxury cruises. the husband is a high level narcissist. many of the couple’s travels are around the world jaunts. at the captain’s table every night, the couple is applauded and lauded for their social and economic standing in the world. after three months on a luxurious cruise, they return home to rest up for their next exotic trip. This is their life script. one might ask: why would anyone want to live like this? the answer is they are narcissists who obtain their ego rewards in this manner. on the cruise, the couple is treated like royalty. the husband (who is a not so secret alcoholic) regales fellow passengers with endless stories of financial largesse and self importance. on the ship he is a charming, ebullient fellow. what could be better for a narcissist on the receiving end of the royal treatment with a built-in captive audience day and night.

Deep inside the narcissistic personality, lives a darker reality. This is the unconscious part of him that feels completely alone and worthless. the narcissist’s experience of emotional emptiness is beyond longing or sadness. it is a severe and intractable wounding, a pain so savage and deep that it seems intolerable. the narcissist’s excessive acquisitions, arrogance and grandiosity represent attempts to deal with these core psychological wounds.

Many wealthy individuals who collect objects of great beauty and value are not narcissists. They purchase millions of acres of pristine land to preserve for all of us. They create foundations that educate and assist those are financially less fortunate. many wealthy individuals purchase great art that is generously exhibited and shared with the public.

Most of us appreciate beauty whether it is created by Nature or crafted by man. the experience of beauty enriches our lives. whether we are standing on a bluff overlooking the glorious blue ruffles of waves or the presence of an original painting by a great master, we are uplifted and expanded. the experience of beauty is multifaceted, it is a young child’s full smile, lighting up his face and ours. each individual creates his own memorable moments of beauty and wholeness.

One of the keys is to keep it simple. When we lead a life without delusion, we see things as they really are. we are at peace knowing what is really important and vital to our lives. As we grow, we learn to become lighter, less attached to things, to give more, to experience greater peace with each moment.

Cosmetic Ingredients You Should Stay Away From

When choosing cosmetic ingredients you should always read the label, read the fine print for any side effects warning they may have. if you are unsure of what product you should choose, you can always check out the Environmental Working Group website on the internet before purchasing any sort of cosmetic product. Many product packages are designed to make you believe that the product is gentle and safe to use on any type of skin, when in fact it may contain ingredients that are irritating to the skin and may actually cause allergic reactions.

You should avoid products containing such ingredients as parabens, amines, and talc. Parabens are endocrine disrupters which mean they disturb the hormone balance in your body and can cause allergic reactions and may even be related to breast cancer tumors. Amiens are chemicals that can combine with nitrosating which is known to cause cancer. some commonly used cosmetics that contain Amiens are Cocamide MEA, DEA, TEA, and sodium hydroxymethylglycinate. Talc which is commonly found in baby power and makeup such as blushes, face powder, and liquid foundation, can be dangerous to health if it contains asbestiform fibers, which can cause cancer.

Other products to be avoided are products containing Coal Tar, Aluminum and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. Coal Tar, which is the synthetic colors used in lipsticks and shampoos should be avoided because these chemicals have been known to cause headaches, nausea, allergies, cancer and skin disorders among other things. Yellow #10 is a perfect example of a synthetic color. Aluminum is found in many products such as eye shadow, eye liner and mascara and is a neurotoxin that is known to damage the heart and lungs and can also cause infertility and Alzheimers disease. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is found in skin crmes and toothpastes and this helps the product to make its lather. this toxic ingredient makes the skin dry and can also combine with other ingredients to create toxic compounds.

When making a choice of what products to choose, look for products that are labeled environmentally friendly, because these products are made through natural processes, using natural ingredients and without harmful chemicals. also be very careful when choosing soaps, because there are many poor quality soaps out there on the market that contain ingredients that can strip the skin of its natural moisture shield which can break down the bodys immune system leaving the skin dry and thereby causing the skin to age more rapidly.

Fragrance – The Soul Of The Rose

The fragrance of the rose too is mainly located in the blossom. each fragrance rose has its own body odour, so to speak, which is not merely fleeting but also dependent on temperature and relative humidity, the time of the day and the soil. the fragrance is primarily located in the corolla, from where it flows from minuscule glands on the upper site of the petals. No wonder, therefore, that densely filled blossom have a stronger fragrance than single or that thick petals have a more intense fragrance than wafer-thin. What is more, red and pink roses tend to have the typical rose fragrance, while the fragrance of white and yellow varieties can often resemble that of irises, violets or lemons, and that of orange roses can be like clover or fruit. yet even the typical rose fragrance has its varieties and its preferences: int the East people tent to favour the heavy scent of the damask rose, whereas in Grasse, the perfume capital of southern France, people prefer the sweet, delicate smell of Centifolia and the Apothecary’s rose.

‘No rose without thorns’

Delhi flowers delivery – although thoroughly well known, in botanical terms this old saying is wrong twice over. first, roses don;t have thorns at all, they have spines. anyone who has removed the spines from a young shoot knows that they are growths that sit on the outside of the shoot and can be removed relatively easy. Real thorns, on the other hand, such as those in a cactus, are part of the core tissue of the plant and are inseparable from it. And the old sating that all roses have spines is also wrong: there are several species that are virtually or entirely spine-free. What is more, the spines on the roses that do have them tend to reflect the individuality of each variety: there are hooked spines, straight spines, needle-thin spines and broad, flat spines – not to mention both hairy and bristly ones.

Hips – the fruit of the rose

The hips that appear on many roses in late summer some as a surprise, because densely flowered varieties are certainly often sterile. A rosehip is an aggregate fruit formed through the swelling of the calyx beneath the corolla, which contains seeds that ripen within it. the number and size of the seeds depends on the species and the variety of rose, as do the shape and color of the hip, which can be blobular, flat or round, oval.

Fragrance Lamps, Stone Burner and Wicks – Proper Use, Care, and Cleaning

Catalytic Effusion Fragrance Lamps and Fuels clean your breathing air, killing up to 85% of all germs floating around in your home. Fragrance Lamps also produce those feel good things called “Negative Ions”. Your Catalytic Fragrance Lamp will give you many years of tantalizing aromas and CLEAN HEALTHY BREATHING AIR by following a few simple steps to keep your Stone Burner and Wick clean and in good working condition. the Stone Burner is the working part of these Hand Blown Glass Catalytic Fragrance Lamps.

The technology behind the fragrance lamp was invented by European scientists in the mid 1800′s. the scientists were searching for a method of disinfecting and purifying air, and discovered that using a simple catalytic process (no flame) would accomplish their mission. and the Catalytic Effusion Lamp was born! [they probably called it something a bit different though] It was later discovered that you could add fragrances to the recipe and have great aromas filling their space, while still disinfecting the air.

HOW TO LIGHT a FRAGRANCE LAMP

- fill the lamp no more than 2/3 full with Fragrance Fuel. Run the Wick down into the lamp, allowing the Stone Burner to rest snugly on top of the metal band at the top of the Fragrance Lamp. Place the snuffer cap over the stone burner. after 20 minutes remove the snuffer cap, light the stone burner and allow the flame to burn for 3 – 4 minutes. Blow the flame out and place the large decorative vented cap over the stone burner and enjoy!

DO NOT ALLOW THE FLAME TO BURN LONGER THAN 4 MINUTES! or you may ruin your stone burner.

TURNING a FRAGRANCE LAMP OFF

when you want to ‘turn your lamp off’, do one of the following

1] if you are going to be lighting your Fragrance Lamp again in the next few days and you still have 2 or 3 inches of Fragrance Fuel in the lamp, place the snuffer cap over the stone burner. then when you are ready to relight your lamp, simply follow directions above on “How to Light a Fragrance Lamp” OR if necessary, remove the burner and wick and add more fuel. then place the burner and wick back into your lamp and light it

2] if you are NOT going to be using your lamp for a few days or longer, after the stone cools to the touch, remove it from the lamp. Place your burner and wick on a clean paper towel allowing the towel to soak up the excess fuel – IF your lamp still had fuel in it- then pour about 1/3 cup 4-In-One Solution for fragrance lamps into a clean bowl, and swish your burner/wick around in the solution. DO NOT let your dirty burner/wick soak in the solution.

Care of Stone Burner and Wick Assembly for Catalytic Fragrance Lamps

- IF you let your fragrance lamp go out, put the snuffer cap on your fragrance lamp or you will ruin any fragrance fuel left in the lamp. the antiseptic will evaporate and your fuel will no longer burn

- NEVER USE ANY TYPE OF FRAGRANCE OR FUEL OR OIL OTHER THAN THE FRAGRANCE FUEL THAT IS MADE FOR THESE FRAGRANCE LAMPS! It won’t work and you will ruin your Stone Burner

- DO NOT soak dirty, gummed up wicks in cleaning solution trying to get it clean – you are just letting the sediments settle into your stone burner

- your Stone Burner/Wick will have a very small wire that goes over top of the burner. DO NOT EVER REMOVE THAT WIRE. a Catalytic Stone Burner and Wick is not like any other type of wick.

- Do not push/pull the wick up through the stone buner like a traditional wick. These wicks are just not made that way and you will ruin it

- to clean your stone burner and fragrance lamp at the same time, burn some 4-in-one-solution in your fragrance lamp. then you’ll clean your lamp, burner, and your breathing air all at the same time

- you can use our Onaya Fragrance Fuels in any brand of Catalytic Effusion Fragrance Lamp

Fragrance Lamp Safety Tips

1. Treat fragrance fuel just like you would isopropyl alcohol. Do not store it next to an open flame and do not allow children to touch your Fragrance Lamp while in use.

2. Never leave the stone burning with an open flame

3. Use the small funnel included with your Fragrance Lamp to pour the Fragrance Fuel into the Fragrance Lamp. always clean any spills of fuel immediately and before you light the lamp.

4. Don’t fill your lamp all the way to the top. 2/3 – 3/4 full is fine

5. Never place snuffing cap over an open flame.

6. Do not refill the fragrance lamp until stone burner is cool to touch.

Fragrance fuel is fragrance oil suspended in an isopropyl alcohol base. This fragrance lamp fuel is the base of the catalytic process which effuses the fragrance into the air.

my own experience

The instructions provided above are based on the basics included with Catalytic Fragrance Lamps, with my own updated findings over the past couple of years. the testing and research I have done has taken me thru several of the Stone Burners while determining what can and cannot be done with these wicks.

But Onaya’s latest Stone Burner and Wick lasts longer, are much easier to care for, and can take more abuse or forgetfulness. Like when you forget to place the snuffer cap on when all the fuel is gone.

If your lamp goes out [runs out of fuel] and you don’t put the snuffer cap on immediately, NO PROBLEM! the new Onaya Stone Burners will fire right back up even if you leave the cap off for a few days!

If you haven’t tried one of the new Stone Burner and Wick Assembly’s from Onaya, you are missing out on a great stone burner. They are so much easier to care for.

ALWAYS USE NAME BRAND, QUALITY FRAGRANCE FUELS IN YOU FRAGRANCE LAMP, OR YOU WILL RUIN YOUR STONE BURNER and WICK.

I hope this has helped some to better understand just what a Catalytic Effusion Fragrance Lamp is, and how to use them properly to achieve the longest lasting fragrance, and best performance.
