Celine Autumn Winter 2011 2012

Phoebe Philo’s collection for Celine incorporated minimalism, craft, sportswear and inspirations from automotive interiors with streamline cuts. The overal simplicity of this collection caught our eye. Trousers played an important roll in this Autumn Winter collection which was refreshing. Two toned troousers were a favourite which used both tweed and leather fabrics. Celine Autumn Winter 2011 2012 collection could show the return of the polo neck. The chevron stripe jumper gave a true statement to what the collection was about, laidback sophistication. The use of panels within the construction of pieces complimented the block colour trends that came from London Fashion Week this season. Panelling in shirts to the panelled cream leather dress showed this collection complimented the figure.

Jean Paul Gaultier Autumn Winter 2011 2012

Jean Paul Gaultier Autumn Winter 2011 2012 collection was all about making a statement. Not necessarily of outlandish fashion but more of a statement of society. Jean Paul Gaultier collection at Paris Fashion Week included a witty take on age, Jean Paul Gaultier stated, how to look young – without Botox. Models were styled with grey wigs that had been backcombed and given exaggerated French pleat styles. Before his show in Paris on Saturday Jean Paul Gaultier evaluated his collection, no corsets, no flesh It’s quite ladylike. I can’t believe it. here at Kindred Sole we love the grown up elegance of Jean Paul Gaultier’s collection but love even more how a theatrical style was involved including models stripping off layers of clothing, leaving a pile at the end of the runway. The collection embraced Parisian chic with the use of prints, trouser suits and belted trench coats. The tailoring at Jean Paul Gaultier was so chic and with pieces including pussy cat bow blouses and tweed skirts and jackets, the collection was wearable.

  • Colours: Camel, brown, black and cream
  • Must have items: Belted trench coat and trouser suit
  • Footwear: Smart black and brown high heel shoes

Vivienne Westwood is a name synonymous with fashion. her shows are guaranteed to get people talking as a statement is always at the heart of the collection. Vivienne Westwood Gold Label collection at Paris Fashion Week encapsulated a ‘Woman as Warrior’ theme. I can’t keep banging on about climate change, so I decided to express my thoughts about the planet through strong women, and the fact women are the guardians of culture, said Dame Vivienne Westwood after her show. her inspirations from around the world were captivating. Prints and patterns created the fabulous looks of the show including batik prints, country florals, pinstripes and British plaids. The statement making geometric prints balanced with Victorian blouses with puff sleeves meant a balance between warrior and femininity. The tousled hair styled with face paint complimented the collection.

Lanvin Autumn Winter 2011 2012

The dark colours at Lanvin were luxurious and chic. Jewel hued tones for evening gowns were fabulous accents for Lanvin Autumn Winter 2011 2012 collection. We were captivated by the wide brimmed hats and structured dresses, skirts and capes within the first set of the collection. The sternness style of the collection was mystifying. The show progressed to include black and white large floral print dresses (we love) and draped evening dresses which are designer Alber Elbaz’s signature style. The final set included brighter colours which created dresses with volume.

Facts:

  • Colours: Black, white, cream, jewelled purple, peach pink
  • Must have items: Cape, wide brimmed hat and high volume dress
  • Footwear: Loafers, ankle strap shoes, platform sandals and high heel ankle boots

Christian Dior Autumn Winter 2011 2012

Christian Dior’s Paris Fashion Week show began with a moving speech from Dior president, Sidney Toledano. this was following the dismissal of designer John Galliano amid anti-Semitic remarks made. Due to these circumstances there was tight security and a heavy police presence. The disgraced British designer was absent from the show. Christian Dior’s Autumn Winter 2011 2012 collection included 62 models and seemed to reveal an overal look back on Dior’s previous seasons. The collection was ultra feminine. Fabrics were either sheer, appliqued or included features or fabric manipulation. An influence of lingerie was apparent with floaty silhouettes and frilly bloomers. The colour’s within the collection were perfect for Autumn with burgundy, black and emerald green colour tones being used.

Jean Paul Gaultier – Codpieces Are Coming Back

As we have seen through the reintroduction of Bell Bottoms, Tweed, and Danskins- fashions are cyclical and anything is possible. One fashion that has been long forgotten by the mainstream is making it’s way back from the history books. Jean Paul Gaultier, the famous designer who introduced man-skirts in the 80′s and produced costumes for Madonna in the 90′s, including her cone-shaped bra for the Blond Ambition Tour, is now setting his sights on a fashion for men, codpieces. A codpiece is a pouch that attaches to the front of men’s trousers to accentuate the genitals. it was widely used by European men during the 15th and 16th centuries. Even in a time before basketball players and porn stars, European men driven by insecurity, wore codpieces to provide the effect of having larger genitals.

But Gaultier is looking to change that in a big way. Codpieces are so fun the last time I saw a codpiece worn was by Freddy Mercury. Everybody should wear one. Let’s flaunt the genitals like it’s 1552 shouted Gaultier. I’m surprised that this trend never caught on with the Asian men, giggled Gaultier. His announcement came right after Paris’ Annual Fashion Week. I am ready to take the fashion world by storm once again. I will not rest until codpieces are on everyone’s mind. We are going to get medieval this decade.a little bit naughty, said Gaultier. He plans to begin production on the codpiece pants next month at his factory in Paris and have them in stores everywhere in the U.S. by Fall 2011. A call has been placed to Justin Bieber’s agent for Bieber to become the cover boy for Gaultier’s latest creation.

Women and Shoes

Women and shoes are almost synonymous. MakeMeChic.com understands every woman’s need to have the latest and hippest shoes for every season. Women and shoes are two things you just can separate. There seems to be an intrinsic magnetic attraction between a woman and shoes. Women and shoes are a great combination and we love to have our shoes. Shoes have more of a purpose than just covering our feet.

Fashion has a silent b. Meow, from catwalk to cat fight, fashion certainly can get Ugly Betty Fashion shows have hot women flaunting off with hats and getting amazing responses from onlookers.

Heels are here to stay because of, not despite, the increase in female power. Rather than turning us into flesh puppets who can be posed at will once mastered, heels give women an extra dimension. Heel – Heel of the wedding shoes also depends on your wedding theme. you would probably not want to wear heels in a beach wedding.

Boots cost more, but they use more materials, so that seemed reasonable. Then suddenly designers grew bolder, playing with more extravagant materials, adding jewels and even, as with Prada last season, carving artwork directly into their heels. Boots excellent winter and summer shoes.

Designer shoes are an exclusive part of your personality. Shoes used to be a practical part of your day and now the right designer shoes change the feelings you have. Designer Jean Paul Gaultier took advantage of this fact in the spring show, sending models out in sunglasses. Marc by Marc Jacobs is launching a line priced between $80-$100, and Tom Ford, formerly of Gucci, already has his own line.

Women and Shoes go together like leather and soles. the not so humble shoe is the crowning piece of a fashion outfit. Women and shoes, shoes and women. We can never get enough of each other, and you will never have to worry about finding the perfect shoe ever again

Weary travelers glanced, the rich and famous turned their heads, the pols raised their brows. My bosom grew by inches let me tell. Wearing of toe rings is an old practice in India. Prices vary according to the metal from which the ring is made; gold will naturally ask for a high budget while silver and imitation toe rings come in a more reasonable price range.

Wine, Women and Shoes was begun in 2005 by Elaine Honig, a vineyard marketing executive now married to a Napa Valley vintner. Honig conceived the idea of pairing wine with shoes in a charity event that became so popular she eventually quit her job to run it, said Stubbs. Wine 101 will expand guests’ wine knowledge with a grand wine tasting, which includes wine seminars, tastings and heavy hors d’oeuvres. the event is open to both men and women who enjoy an upscale casual atmosphere and learning about wine. Wine 101, on April 27, from 6 to 8 pm, is a wine-tasting and wine-education event featuring seven women vintners from Napa, along with hors d’oeuvres and a raffle. on April 28, at 7:15 pm, it’s Wine, Women & Shoes, at which the vintners team up with some of Boston’s best chefs for an evening of food, drink, and fashion, emceed by WBZ-TV’s Lisa Hughes.

Tickets to Wine, Women and Shoes are sold out; to be notified about next year’s event, visit the Web. Donations to the Healing Garden can also be made online. Tickets for the luncheon, fashion show and marketplace are $75 per person.

Discover Whether Fragrances Need to Be Defined As Masculine Or Feminine

Traditionally fragrances have been defined by both the olfactive groups that they fit into as well as whether the fragrance is masculine or feminine. is there really a definite line to be drawn between masculine and feminine fragrances though? The majority of perfume shops will separate the male and female perfumes even though, despite their branding, a large percentage of fragrances are comprised of scents that are unisex.

Whether a fragrance is defined as being masculine or feminine seems to have less to do with the fragrance itself and far more to do with the marketing and design that the fragrance house decide to give a particular perfume or aftershave. Perfume and aftershave adverts tend to be heavily focussed on the lifestyle that the fragrance house feels that the perfume exudes, and this is selected to exemplify the type of customer that they want to buy the perfume. this is backed up by the design of both the packaging and the bottles which are often very masculine or feminine (perhaps most notably in the bottles for the Jean Paul Gaultier Perfume and aftershaves classique and le male; where the bottles are literally shaped like a female and male body).

When looking at the scents that are common across feminine fragrances there are a lot (most obviously the strong florals) that are rarely found in masculine fragrances, and similarly there are a few scents that are almost solely found in masculine Aftershave (notably powerful woody scents). despite this the vast majority of scents used are common across both masculine and feminine fragrances and a lot of consumers would likely be surprised by some of the scents that are being marketed at the opposite sex.

Taste is unique to every individual however and although a lot of men may find certain masculine scents too quintessentially manly they are still unlikely to venture into the female perfume section to look for a new scent. The opposite is true for females who may find very floral or powdery fragrances overly femine but still rarely tread into the masculine aftershave aisles. due to this many people, both male and female, will likely miss out on fragrances that might suit them perfectly purely due to unisex scents being branded as being for either males or females. so next time that you are browsing for a new perfume why not consider taking a look in the section dedicated to the opposite sex?

Perfume Review: Ma Dame Eau De Parfum by Jean Paul Gaultier

Ma Dame Eau de Parfum by Jean Paul Gaultier was launched in 2010 as a re-edition of the original Ma Dame Eau de Toilette, yet focusing on a new group of aromatic notes rather than the same ones with a higher intensity. the style remains the same, and it is inspired by the idea of a rebel and spontaneous woman, but also with a dark side. in the Jean Paul Gaultier website the official notes are: black rose, patchouli, pink pepper, musk and cedar.

The opening is different from the one in the Eau de Toilette version, with a dense feeling, similar to the grenadine syrup of the original, but more concentrated. in the middle phase, the dense layer is more relaxed, in favor of a young, very sweet rose and an extra layer of strawberry. Spices are not present so far. this note of rose lasts for quite long – about three hours – until it is joined by a second fruity aroma. Towards the end, a note of patchouli comes out on a base of water, reminding of Opium perfume by Yves Saint Laurent. in the base notes, patchouli is still fresh, with also warm notes of musk and a soapy aroma that brings a sweet spicy background.

The fragrance follows the same trend of other brands, giving a brand new structure to an existing perfume, offering a completely different aroma from the original. in spite of its occasional similarity to Opium perfume, this fragrance definitely stands out for its originality. in the office it could be a little intrusive at times, especially in very small closed space, with patchouli giving an informal rather than professional image. On the romantic side, again patchouli can be aggressive in the middle phase, drawing more curiosity in the beginning and in the end. the ideal age range goes from 20 to 45 years.

Trendy Chic & Affordable Fashion Ideas – Cut Designer Gear Costs By Cutting This Off?

How many people in spite of having no money to fund their habit buying the latest designer gear still make a purchase regardless? how many people copy their favourite pop singer in the way they dress because they are fashionable? how many have cried a bucket of tears due to a weight problem where chic designs make you look hideous. how many of you have taken drastic measures to lose weight because you want to look like those models that strut the catwalk. all four queries above are proven problem causers preventing fashion endeavours to be pleasant ones. what is the point of wearing trendy outfits if it leaves you in debt? If you imitate an idol then remember they have a bank balance making fashion affordable. An overweight issue can be addressed and remedied and should an eating disorder develop in those wanting a figure like the matchstick men painted by Lowry, then you will need medical help.

1 If you fall into the category where you just have to have the new dress in the boutique window, fine, but cutback on other unnecessary necessities which you see as necessary. before splashing the cash on a designer label frock check other department stores, you may bet the exact design of dress is in stock at half the price minus the designer tag. why pay through the nose for a label that is more often than not hidden or cut off. Never use store cards because high interest rates will have that dress double in price. Avoid extra costs by asking a friend or family member for a loan to make the purchase. Set a limit to what you spend on a day out shopping and only take that fixed amount, this way you can not overspend.

Leave credit cards at home; if you can not afford to pay cash then you can not afford it all. great savings can be made if you make the clothing your self. Fashion magazines have fabulous ideas and include valuable advice on how to dress to impress. Dressmaking is not as difficult as you think, you will be surprised how easy it is and not forgetting the sense of achievement in wearing one of your own creations that did not cost an arm and a leg. If you want to spend your money wisely then a needle and cotton along with dress making patterns will keep you in with fashion.

2 before following the fashion of Beyonce Knowles or Victoria Beckham, think hard, why would you want to copy another persons dress code, this will only have you recognized as a duplicated body. By all means take some of their ideas and use them to make them your own and by doing this it becomes unique and original. what you have to remember when copying behaviours of others is we all differ in shape and size. Take Posh Spices Olive Oils skeletal frame for an example, would you get away with wearing tight slacks and a mid waist belly hugging blouse if your frame be like that of Bessie Bunter. If you like their style regardless of your size then cut back on certain issues that connects you directly to them, like their hairstyle or where they place a beauty spot on their face. If you like the fact of duplication then you should consider shape and size first, meaning, if you carry weight then the mid waist belly hugging blouse needs to show less belly and the tight slacks slackened if you get my drift.

3 Trendy outfits will always be easier found in the high street boutique size range of 8 10 12. However there are many outlet stores that cater for the larger woman. Although this is true it can be difficult at times for overweight women. Most fashion items of recent design are designed purely for the woman of a petite frame. why not make it easier on yourself and slim down. Shedding the pounds can be rewarding and result in you becoming a fashion icon in your own right. Not only will you be able to wear what millions of other women are wearing – you will feel a lot healthier tool. all you need is determination to lose weight. Cutting down on fatty foods and sweet stuff along with light exercise will get you in shape. Notice I said cut down and not cut out, so treats can still be eaten in your quest to fit into that figure hugging dress, because you now have a figure.

3 If you are bound by restrictions where you avoid eating meals to slim down, then this is not healthy at all, in fact it is very dangerous indeed and you should consult your doctor about your problem. Anorexia nervosa and bulimia are two common conditions in young girls. Sadly the girls affected with these diseases see them self as fat when this is not true. no matter what you say or do to help the patient, the advice given will go in one ear and out the other. It is important if you are the guardian of or the victim of an eating disorder is for that person to get help immediately.

Born and bred in Italy in the city of Reggio di Calabria Donatella Versace was the youngest of three children, her father secured in position a personal financier to the Italian aristocracy. Versace we all more relate to the brother Giovanni. Sadly and a great loss to the world of fashion he was murdered, shot dead in cold blood on July 15th in Miami Florida by madman Andrew Cunanan who took the cowards way out and shot himself before capture.

The beginning of Jean-Paul Gaultier came about when Pierre Cardin stepped in after seeing his work. he was highly impressed at what Gaultier had to offer and hired him as an assistant in the seventies. Jean-Paul Gaultier has been connected to many famous names and one being Madonna. It was during the nineties with her infamous cone-bra for her Blond Ambition Tour that gave real light to his talent and ability in donating new ideas to form his own recognized fashion.

He was born in France April 24th 1952. JPC continued to design as well as becoming famed for his range of perfumes his first fragrance, Classique, a women’s floral-oriental, was introduced in 1993, followed by Le Mle for men two years later and continues to still provide fabulous. fragrances.

What are the best smelling/most complimented aftershaves for men?

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of getting more aftershave when Boxing Day comes and most things are half price:D. I currently have Joop! Homme, Joop! Thrill and Lacoste Challenge. the ones im thinking of getting next are either:

Paco Rabanne – 1 million
Acqua di Gio – Armani
Le Male – Jean Paul Gaultier
Davidoff – Cool Water

I might get two of they're half price, but if you know any other aftershaves which girls are really attracted to then post them on here:D. All answers are much appreciated;D

Thanks – Adam:)

my partner likes to wear Davidoff and I really like it on him. Armani code is also scrummy. mind you all Armani aftershaves are good. I haven't smelled Acqua di Gioa for men but I thought I liked the version for women and asked for it for birthday and after wearing it for a few weeks, then realised it was too much like that salty harbour smell you get at the beach- kind of stagnant pools so I've gone off it sadly. You may want to be really sure before shelling out on that one. Just thought- my friend's hubby likes Paul Smith but not sure which one. good luck!

Acqua di Gio is literally the best men's scent EVER.
Cool Water and 1 million are also really nice, but I'm a girl, and I have Acqua di Gio just because it smells lush!

The Paco Rabanne 1 million its amazing and really popular! :D

Acqua di Gio by Armani smells like JESUS. GET IT!

The Scent of Lollies

I love collecting perfumes. I first started to realise my penchant for perfumes when I was in high school and my best friend gave me my first bottle of Chanel. since then, I have smelled many perfumes and collected them. Now that I am working and have a family of my own, my interest in perfumes and fragrances never ceased. in fact I have a whole room at home that houses my collection for the past fifteen years. of all the fragrance in the world my favourite are the sweet smelling ones especially the ones that smell like candies and lollies.

One of my favourite perfumes is Green Tea Revitalize by Elizabeth Arden. this perfume has an intense citrus note on it that reminds me of orange flavoured lollies. this perfume will make any woman feel fresh and will certainly stand out among the crowd. this one in my opinion is even better than the original Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden. The orange sweetness of this perfume also lasts longer and is really perfect for summer.

Another personal favourite is Coco Extreme by Comptour Sud Pacifique. this perfurme carries a sweet island flowers scent with a tinge of coco milk. when you spray it over, it will start giving off the fresh smell of coconut like sweet flavours of coco lollies. The smell then turns into a caramel like scent that gives off the wonderful essence of island flowers. The smell is perfect for getaways and summer vacations and will definitely spice up a wonderful honeymoon.

If you like the smell of fresh red fruits like their versions in lollies, then Contrversy by Jade Goody is for you too I personally carry smaller version of this perfume in my purse because it’s simply irresistible. I like to wear it when I’m in the office working. what makes it even better is I don’t have to reapply for many times and I still smell fresh when I get back home from work. such a delight to smell and I always get compliments from people because of it.

Another citrus scent that I absolutely love is clat d’Arpge by Lanvin. Unlike the Green Tea Relitalize, this perfume is a bit mellow and a little less crisp. it also reminds me of lollies with lemon flavour. any woman wearing this perfume will definitely get a compliment from a man. it has a subtle but a very sexy scent. it is very pleasant, fresh, fruity you can almost taste it.

Jean-Paul Gaultier – Designs That Shock and Scents That Surprise

History of Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Career

Jean-Paul Gaultier is an unconventional designer from France. His fashion career began back in 1970 when noted fashion designer Pierre Cardin took a chance on this completely untrained, yet talented designer hiring him on as an assistant. In 1976 his first individual collection was released, but it was in 1981 that he began to display his true nature and what would now be considered his characteristic irreverent designs. Playing on themes such as gender confusion and using untraditional types, such as tattooed and pierced men or full figured woman, as models earned him both considerable criticism and growing popularity. He is particularly well known for designing the costumes for pop superstar Madonna’s Blond Ambition Tour where she sported a cone-shaped bra.

Gaultier Makes the Move to Fragrance Design

Jean-Paul Gaultier added the title of fragrance designer to his rsum with the release of his first women’s fragrance originally named for the designer and later renamed Classique to distinguish it from his other scents. The fragrance is a floral–oriental with notes of Orange Flower, Bulgarian Rose, Italian Mandarin, Star Aniseed, Orchid, Iris, Ylang–Ylang, Indian Ginger, Soft Vanilla, Woody Amber and can be described as fun and sexy. The bottle is shaped as a woman’s upper torso in a corset, mirroring the essence of Gaultier’s clothing designs and true to his irreverent attitude the bottles were packages in cans rather than the traditional cardboard boxes most perfumers use.

Gaultier Continues to Test the Limits with His Fragrances

Gaultier designed his next fragrance in 1995 for men and called it Le Mle. To date it is still one of the top selling men’s fragrances in Europe and holds a strong position in the markets of the United States and Australia, as well. His third fragrance called Fragile did not fair quite so well and has limited distribution these days. In 2006 Gaultier released a unisex fragrance called Gaultier which he dubbed the fragrance for humanity. His latest men’s fragrance, Fleur du Mle contains notes of Orange Blossom, Petitgrain Leaf, Coumarin, and Fern Accord and although the name means flowers of men, it is described as being a 100% masculine fragrance. The men’s fragrances have the shape of a man’s torso with the Le Mle in a turquoise striped tank top and the Fleur du Mle in a pure white bottle.

Conclusion

Jean-Paul Gaultier started his fashion career in an unconventional way and never changed his method of operation. His designs continue to shock and amaze critics and fans alike. although his first fragrance didn’t get the rave reviews he had hoped for, Jean-Paul Gaultier continued to design unique bottles and new fragrances. His first men’s fragrance, Le Mle was his first big success and continues to sell well today. From cone shaped bras, half dressed women and tattooed male models, Gaultier has pushed the limits and defined himself as an unconventional designer. there is little doubt that he will continue to push the envelope and express his bad boy ways through his future clothing and fragrance designs.

The Big List of Women’s Tall Clothing Basics (Part 2 of 3)

6. Long Layering Shirts- Every tall woman needs some great long layering shirts. these are usually made of t-shirt fabric and can have long sleeves or shirt sleeves. these are great for wearing alone or underneath any item of clothing that may be slightly too short, such as a sweater or a blazer. Layering shirts are what allows tall women to extend our wardrobe choices into regular size items we love when tall sizes are not available. these shirts should be long enough that they can stretch to the bottom of our hips, and yet can be scrunched up to a shorter length if desired. these layering shirts can be plain or have a row of lace as a bottom hem. either one is fine. I recommend you purchase one in black, and white and if your budget affords a couple of brighter colors that you love.

7. Black Boots with a slight heel – Many tall women tend to shy away from shoes with heels. however nothing will help you look better than a black boot with a slight heel. now, I’m not talking about adding inches here, just a slight heel with a maximum of 2″. the heel will give you a great leg line, make you stand straighter and overall helps you appear more put together. We recommend a knee length black boot as you can wear it with trousers, jeans and knee length skirts. these should be made from leather and be clean with not too many details so they will look great for many years.

8. Black Leather Pumps – Black leather pumps are so versatile as you can wear them to work or a wedding. Many tall women have larger feet and pointy shoes only accentuate the shoe size, so I would avoid pointy shoes, but rather choose a slightly rounded toe instead. a one to two inch heel is the perfect heel height for a tall woman.

9. a Pair of Stunning Shoes – What I mean by stunning shoes is one that will turn heads. these are usually sexy with a small heel and are dressy shoes. these can be bright colored, shiny, fabric printed, whatever you like. have fun with these shoes without going overboard as you want it to match most of your neutral colors, but add a touch of your personality.

10. Black Dress – a little black dress is sometimes hard to find for tall women. I recommend you buy a quality little black dress with a length slightly above the knee or slightly below. this is a basic dress, not overly sexy. the accessories you wear with the dress will really change the whole look of it. Layer a cardigan over it, or wear alone with silver jewelry or pearls. have fun with this dress, but find one made from a quality material with short sleeves or without sleeves.
