Perfumes – How to Choose the Best One For Yourself

French types: Most of the perfumes from France have a sort of trademark character to them. the fragrances are soft, floral, and tend to favor the powdery. these stand for sophistication, feminity, and charm. French scents tend to be more mature and are great for women in the business world or females with classic tastes and sensibilities. E.g. Chanel, Nina Ricci, Yves St. Laurent.

American types: these ones tend to favor orange and citrus notes, or have exuberant florals. Most women can wear these fragrances as they tend to compliment most skin chemistries. e.g. ‘Beautiful’ by Estee Lauder, Romance by Ralph Lauren, Eternity and Obsession by Calvin Klein.

Fresh scented types: these ones are designed to smell like soap or clean air. the best example in this range is Grace by Philosophy etc. Calvin Klein’s one is the brand I prefer to buy in this category as it is both a mens’ perfume as well as womens’ perfume.

Based on occasions: you should always wear perfumes based on different occasions. some are a lot heavier than others. Light and refreshing fragrances are good for daytime wear and the summer months, whereas warmer, more sensual scents are perfect for evenings and special occasions e.g. the Little black dress perfume or Elizabeth Ardens Provocative woman. Wear scents like chocolate, strawberry or fruity smells for a day out at the beach. whereas, if you are in a business meeting you need to keep it subtle and go for musky, woody and more earthy scents.

Whatever perfume you wear always remember overdoing it only makes it uncomfortable for others in the vicinity. Just remember, you just have to spread a whiff not reinforce your brand.

However, this list is not exhaustive so I recommend buying cheaper testers or handbag-sized bottles. this can be a great way of trying something new without spending a fortune.

I prefer online marts to shop for perfumes, as they come with a great variety and with heavy discounts for time to time. Try online if you know your personal choice and of course read the description properly that is offered along with it

How do you use home fragrance oil?

I received a small bottle of Crabtree and Evelyn home fragrance oil as a gift. Is this safe to put directly on lightbulbs or will it give off a burned lavender odor? how else do you use it to freshen the home?

I don't know about directly on bulbs, but you can buy a little donut-shaped thing that sits on the bulb to hold oils. you can also buy cute little oil burners in which you place a tea light under a small bowl filled with oil. you can use it to refresh potpourri, or just on yourself if it is safe on the skin. I buy Rose-essential oil and just use it like cologne.

Don't put it on lightbulbs.

I work at Bath and Body Works, and they sell frag. oil too. you put it in a special oil burner and light a candle under it.

I have seen these little rings that you can put on your lightbulbs and then put the oil in the ring, but I would not advise putting the oil on the bulb itself, as it could stain your stuff. And who knows what it'll do when it leaks into the electrical part of the lamp.

I would not put it directly on a light bulb. There are rings for light bulbs that you can buy; they absorb the oil and enhance the fragrance when you turn on the light. you might check Pier 1 or one of the larger home stores like Lowe's or Home Depot. you could sprinkle some on a cotton ball and set it in an open container in an inconspicuous place or you could just leave the top off the bottle. I believe there are things like the potpourri burners that you can buy for the fragrances, too.

I dont reccomend putting it directly on lightbulbs.. it could be dangerous if it gets too hot.

You can add some water and put it on low heat in a pot on the stove.
The make holders specifically for home fragrance oils. its sourt of the same thing that you'd use for like scented wax things that you'd use with a tea light candle..

If you dont have one of those or dont know what i'm talking about – i'd stick with putting it on the stove in with some water… (Mine say on the bottel not to mix with water. I do it all the time. maybe if i didnt mix it the smell would be slightly stronger – but theres really nothing harmful about adding water.)

I have a pair that I use for reading(ralf Loren, expensive) and want to put the lenses in those.

Do you think polo shirts are geeky?

I'm 23 and I usually wear t-shirts but occassionally I wear polo shirts with a white t-shirt underneath and with jeans. Do you think polo shirts are geeky?

No. it kind of depends how you wear it, really. I come from an affluent place, from a region full of preparatory schools, and well, a lot of people in this region are dresses in polos and blouses. It's not ALL they wear, but polos aren't considered geeky.

However, I think that double polo shirts with popped collars just makes them look like a tool.

If you wear a tee underhood, then that's good.

I used to, until I started going to a school where polo shirts were part of the uniform. Since then I've really loved wearing polo shirts and I don't understand why more people don't. They look dorky if they're left unbuttoned, but they look good if the top button is done up.

No, it should not match. the days of matchy are over – it has to go with, not match. It's like wearing a blue jean jacket with matching jeans. way too rodeo for the fashion scene. Try to get the hat in the same color family as the shirt, or pick a neutral hat and go wild with color on the shirt, or vice versa.

Even if the boxers are more like swim trunks, wearing them outside around the pool might result in some quirky looks from other travelers. instead, the man could have a great day relaxing, swimming, or soaking up the sun but when ready to call it a day and head back to the room, he would simply throw on his robe and be on his way. of course, if the man forgot his robe from home, many hotels now offer men’s robes to borrow or even take home.

Another reason that men’s robes are a better choice over boxers and a T-shirt is that they are far more comfortable. Okay, so boxers and a T-shirt give a man freedom of movement, but the right type of robe is just as comfortable without worry of something riding up or the man accidentally exposing himself with company in the room. instead, men’s robes are designed to fit the body perfectly while still feeling like a soft, second skin. In comfortable and proper fitting men’s robes, a man could kick back and watch his favorite football team on television, fix something to eat, or simply lounge around on his day off.

Of course, men’s robes can also be worn when spending intimate time with a special woman. In addition to robes being made of a cotton and polyester blend, they also come in silk and silk blends that have a sexy but also manly look. This way, if a couple were on their honeymoon or taking a romantic trip together, the robe would add to the sensual occasion while still making him feel masculine.
