Get New Styling Chairs to Update Your Salon

When your salon or barber shop needs some updating, you should think about adding new styling chairs. Customers expect not going great new hairstyles, but also comfort while that’s happening. give your customers the comfort and style they expect.

Styling chairs vary widely both in their cost and style. Many salons like clean, modern chairs as they look great and are easy to clean. Black is a common color as it matches many decors and looks stylish.

If you are looking for new styling chairs, you should keep in mind a few things as you shop. Before you start, it’s a good idea to create a budget for the salon equipment that you need. if you need to furnish all of the equipment for your salon, make a list of each piece that you need. Estimate each piece and the overall total so that you have some guidelines to go by.

Shopping for styling chairs can be both fun and challenging. Before purchasing any chairs, look at what different retailers have available. sometimes you can find chairs and other equipment at discount salon retailers which can save you some money. you can also search online for equipment. in either case, remember to figure in shipping and handling costs into the final price.

Look for chairs that fit the style of your salon. Most chairs have a sleek, modern look although you can also find chairs that have a retro feel to them. if you want another color other than black, look for different colors or check with the various manufacturers to see if the color can be changed.

Just as important as the style of the chair is the comfort. your customers want to be comfortable while you are doing their hair so look for chairs that are comfortable to sit in for a period of time. You’ll also want to consider the maintenance level of the chair and its comfort for you. Many salons like styling chairs that work on hydraulics so that you can adjust the chair depending on the height of your customer. you also want a chair that is easy to clean and that resists stains from dyes and other styling products.

New styling chairs can update your salon and create a look that customers will love to visit. You’ll want to keep in mind both functionality and your customer’s comfort while you shop. you can get great style within your budget.

Linke sponsored by CIA`s Ford Foundation?

« The Great Firewall of Germany | Home | GDL-Streik: offener Brief eines Transnet-Lokführers an Mehdorn »

The International Working Group on Gender, Macroeconomics and International Economics … Das Programm erhielt großzügige Unterstützung von der Ford Foundation, dem International Development Research Centre (IDRC)und den United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs, Division for the Advancement of Women, UNDP und UNIFEM. Veranstalter ist das Department of Economics der University of Utah.”

Im Departement of Economics, wie gesagt, gesponsert von der Ford Foundation, findet sich auch die Mailinglist “Marxism – Activists and scholars in Marxist tradition” betrieben. Guckst Du hier und hier und hier.

DaDeutschland Heutegenau so.

If someone opened a Professional Dog Bathing Business in home would you…?

I have worked with animals my entire life, from vets offices to grooming salons and Im thinking about eventually opening a Dog Bathing Business in my home. not a grooming business no body hair will be cut. from my past jobs, I know there is a market for this, but im wanting to know if YOU would take your dog to a in home salon. I have noticed over the years, that most places are Quantity driven and not Quality. Tons of kennels, noise, and stress. Its not personal anymore and i want to change this in my area. Sparing no expense. Im thinking about converting my basement into a fully functional bathing room. with the best equipment from the hydrosurge bathing system, to a stainless steal professional tub with ramp, about 10 kennels, velocity dryers, kennel driers, the works. Offering all services that most well know salons offer in their bathing packages, for at least 10% less than the competition. so what i want to know is if you the customer would take advantage of this service if there was one around you. I want this to be a professional quality driven business, im not in it for the money at all. so wold you use this? what would you want to change about the places you have locally? any complaints? any things you love about the local salons? I would love any and all opinions on this.

I think its a great idea. Working in Vet clinics for many years,i know the craziness that can happen in clinics and I am sure grooming salons. Putting a low key spin on the whole thing will attract clients who dont like the hustle and bustle of the fast paced places. Good thinking!

I honnestly diddn't read all of that but from the last paragraph, sounds good. I would rather go to a smaller business anyways. bad experience. Just make it look fun for the dog and the owner. make lots of space. try to sell doggy cookies, give one away with each cut. :] my place does that. :] Good luck!

very few people take their dogs to a groomer just for a bath.. at least 95% of the customers want their dogs to actually be trimmed or groomed somehow.

I dont think this would be very profitable myself.

I wouldnt pay someone to bathe my dog.. I can do it myself.

If you actually groomed them I would. Id rather take them to place that will cut their hair and nails. why don't you add that too since you used to worked for a groomers. I think it is a great idea though.

If you aren't in it for the money, how would you be able to pay for all of your equipment and earn a living? Get real, of course you are in it for the money and the fact that you are wanting to charge 10% less proves that you really are in it for the $! And no I would not take my dog to a house for just a bath, why should I when I can do that at home for free?! Other than that he wouldn't need to be bathed unless he's getting groomed.

i would love something like that in my area. i would also love a place where i could go and SEE them take care of my babies the first time or two. we were taking my pit st. bernard mix to a place here and he was fine the first few times. then we went to take him once and he refused to walk in the door. didn't know why as he loved to go before. turns out, he'd had a seizure while he was there last time and the groomer didn't tell us, since he was locked in a cage when it happened and didn't even pay attention. just realized that he had wet himself and rewashed him. yes he knew chopper had seizures.

i would prefer a place where only a couple of dogs were there at a time so they could receive more personalized care.

I would defiitly do that! I don't take my dog to the local dog groomers anymore. She doesnt like it there and I have no idea why lol. It sounds like a ton of work and you would have to do a lot of advertising and convincing that your top notch. :) . but I think you could do it. the one time I took my dog to the groomers it seamed like the lady didnt even care about my dog, she just wanted to get it over with. so just treat the owners with respect and be gentle with the dogs and im sure people with love you. :)

I don't know if you could survive of this as a sole income, but it would definitely be a nice side job. Personally? I wouldn't take my dog somewhere to get a bath when I could do it just as well myself, but I know lots of other people would.

Although, I wouldn't do the 10% less thing, it just makes it look like you're trying to lowball your competition. instead try to make your place seem more appealing. I would rather bring my dog somewhere that cost a little bit more and was nice, instead of cheaper and not so nice.

Your problem will be by not grooming. At least 75% of any grooming business is from grooming not just baths plus ppl expect pads, privates & faces trimmed also. I run my grooming business from home & have a good clientèle base. my clients are from where I worked previously or referrals from vets or trainers or other clients. I don't do any advertising at all. Your problem is right now ppl are cutting back on things like pet care that they can do themselves or extend. All groomers I know all over the US, their business has dropped off considerable. I do my clients only one at a time & groom straight thru which is what many of my clients want & why vets suggest me for certain dogs with health/personality issues(or their owners!). Pushing a service similar to that would get you clients but you should consider going into business with a groomer which would benefit both of you. It's hard to do dogs by yourself(I only do small) & often you need assistance with large or difficult dogs cuz those will be the ones you will get – the ones the owners can't deal with. you can contact me if you have any specific questions & remember it costs plenty for that kind of setup & you will licenses & inspections. you might want to consider a boarding facility instead. I know ppl who do that & ppl will pay for a place they feel secure in leaving their pets with & you can do baths before sending them home for extra income.

Beautician therapy, is it good?

well, i am 15 and in two years time i will be able to leave school, and i am thinking of going to a beauty therapist college, but my mum says that a beautician doesnt get much money.
i will do a course which will give me qualifications in spray tan, nails, makeup, waxing, skincare, massages, body treatments (spa treatments) tints.
after i finished my course i will probably find ajob in a salon, i would ike a fultime job…how much do you think i will get working fulltime in a salon?

after a while i would look to run my own salon, with just me working, no employees, there is a place that i could rent a room and do all my salon stuff.
after paying for rent and equipment yearly and paying national insurance and tax how much do you think i will earn a year?

is it worth doing becasue i suppose i have the potential to go to sixth form and get a levels and go to university but it really doesnt appeal to me and i dont know what else i can do but i need to get a good job as i am a shopaholic and love spray tans?

any other comments and suggestions?

cosmotology is the most UNglamorous carrer ever. you make very little money, and have to deal with unsatisfied clients every day.

it is also very exhausting standing on your feet all day every day. i say go to college and get a job using your BRAIN

yes it is
i wanted to do beautician too. but everyone told me that it ha ent got good pay which is true. nowadays most people dnt go to salons due to lack of money
so you decided what is right for you

GET QUALIFICATIONS.

You can always go to beauty if you really want to, but if it doesn't work out then you will kick yourself forever if you have no qualifications.

PLEASE GO TO UNI.

Does any one know a place where I could attempt to get a loan?

Ok… this is all complicated. I own a business, have for 8 months. It is doing well, better numbers than the previous years same time frame. I got home from a year deployment (Iraq) just over a year ago, and therefore can not prove income from one place for two years. my expected yearly income is $24,000 for now. my credit score is a 726 and will improve soon, once I pay off my debt from purchasing the business. I plan to build an apartment on top of my current salon (it is a big project – but doable) next spring. by then my credit will be higher, but I need to borrow about 50,000 for the project, and I still won't have two years of financials. I can't borrow under a home mortgage because it will be a building project (this also rules out a va loan), and I only have collateral as much as my business (6 tanning beds, computer, furniture, washer/dryer, and spa equipment). Any suggestions???

What's the best deep conditioner for dry/frizzy/damaged hair?

My hair is IMMENSLY dry and frizzy. I can not use conditioners that "soften" hair because even though its soft, its too unruly and frizzy. I have naturally curly hair, very tight, fro like curls, so I do a lot of damage to my hair with straightening irons. I have tried everything from store shelves, for example: Pantene ProV, herbal essence, salon brands, and even did some hair masks made with avacodo, and bananas. I have tried herbal, vinegar treatments, oil treatments, even used beer, and NOTHING works! I always pre-treat my hair with heat protectors before using any styling equipment, have top of the line flat iron, and hair dryer. I am only washing my hair 2-3 times a week, leaving conditioner in hair for hours at a time once a week, and nothing has worked so far. can somebody please help! :)
