According to the Panasonic ES8243A Electric Shaver owner’s manual, the blade should be replaced once every two years and the foil should be replaced once a year. However, most people do not buy replacement blades at the same time that they purchase their new electric shaver. in fact, many people don’t even think about replacement blades after they’ve made the initial purchase of the shaver. Small kitchen appliances represented one of the industry’s leading growth segments in 2010. Solid sales growth was generated by blenders, drip coffeemakers, hand and stand mixers, electric grills, rise cookers, and waffle irons. Small kitchen appliance sales were better in 2010 than they were in 2007 before the global economic crisis, increasing 9% when measured by volume and 3% when measured by dollar sales.

Sales of personal-care appliances were flat in 2010, with men’s shavers and hair-care appliances generating some growth. Growth was also reported for humidifiers, heaters, vaporizers and robotic and workshop vacuum cleaners within the electric housewares category.

After a solid 1Q 2011 performance, demand for appliances in major markets slowed down during 2Q 2011. Demand in the North American market decreased 10% after six months of growth. the European and Latin American markets for appliances improved slightly in 2Q 2011.

Old Vs New Men’s Electric Razors

If you’re like me, you have an old electric razor you think you’ll never need to replace.

It isn’t perfect, but it seems to get the job done. You haven’t looked at the latest models so you don’t know what’s different about shavers these days.

But out of curiosity I took a peak at what’s new and here are a few of the things I’ve discovered.

Now there is a shaver that vibrates to condition the skin so hair moves into position for a closer shave. my older shaver doesn’t have such a feature, but it seems to buzz and vibrate because of the motor that turns the rotary blades.

Some newer models have flexible heads that keeps in contact with the skin contours as it glides. along with the contoured handle, I would imagine designers had ergonomics in mind. my older shaver can’t do this. It doesn’t look as sleek either.

Newer models are cordless and rechargeable. my shaver needed a cord plugged into an electric outlet and now that I think about it, not having a cord to fumble around with would be nice.

The best feature of all with these new electric razors is that they are self cleaning. the razor is placed upside down on a base that contains cleaning solution. with my old shaver, I had to take it apart and clean each piece by hand.

With all the convenient new features available in electric razors today, it just might be a good idea to replace our older obsolete models.

What is the optimum oscillation for an non-rotary electric razor?

Hi.
Firstly, I'm on coumidin ( a blood thinner ) and cannot use a razor blade system. Secondly, I have tried over twenty different electric razors and have settled on one.
I shave my head and face with a Braun mobile m-90 electric razor that is powered by two AA batteries.the razor operates fine for the first hour but as soon as the oscillations start to slow a bit, I start getting pinched.
My question of "what is the optimum oscillation for an non-rotary electric razor" should be followed by "what is the best AA battery to use to maintain the high oscillation that is needed for a smooth, painless electric shave"?
Any thoughts?

Well to make it easier, you could buy some rechargeable batteries and charge them every day or so to keep them topped up. other than that I'm not sure what else you could do?

What is the best electric razor for shaving my head?

i have heard really good things about the andis brand of razors. my boyfriend uses that one for his hair and he says that it is excellent!

Clippers are really best. look at the Oster Classic 76. get the shortest blade accessory.
