In this article I’ll be writing about the Panasonic Vortex ES8109, and the reason for that is because that’s the shaver I currently use. Having sensitive skin made me try many other brands of electric shavers in the past, from Norelco to Braun and older Panasonic models, but at the end, I had resigned myself to just trim my beard every other day. A few months ago, I started feeling that trimming my beard was no longer good for me, so I did an intensive online research about shavers, and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy, there are MANY types of shavers in the market, and finding the right one is a tough job. From all the reviews and shaver ratings, it all came down to foil shavers and more specifically, to 2 brands: Braun vs Panasonic. After a lot of reviews reading, I finally decided to go for the ES8109 after a special price Amazon had a few months ago. Why the Panasonic? There are several reasons for that, the most obvious one is it’s price, at that time (2 months ago), I paid around $80 for it with free shipping and no taxes, what a no brainer! The average price right now is about $100 shipped with no tax, and that’s still a great price, specially if you compare it to the much more expensive Braun 790cc series, which costs around $220.
- The speed, 13,000 RPM for the Panasonic’s motor vs the 10,000 microvibrations per minute for the Braun.
- The reviews, both have an almost perfect 4.5 out of 5 in Amazon, so why would I pay double for the Braun shaver.
- I took a chance, Amazon offers returns for 30 days… I didn’t have anything to lose.
I have to say that I’m really satisfied with this product, the one thing I dislike about it, is the fact that the manufacture recommends cleaning it by using the special cleaning system provided… that’s totally unnecessary, this shaver works wet or dry, meaning that you can fully rinse it in the sink. I now enjoy shaving at nights, no more razor bumps or cuts!

Womens shaving??
i've read about electic shavers for legs that don't require your legs to wet or to use shaving cream. and it like rotates so you can't cut yourself? it sounds a little too good to be true. are there really things like this, how do they work, what are you opinions, where do i get one, and why doesn't everyone use one if they do exsist??
I AM STILL GOING THE OLD FASHION WAY SO IF THERE IS a NEW WAY SPREAD THE LIGHT THIS WAY.
They don't shave a close as a razor,
well..an electric razor might not be such a great idea. it's better to get one of the electric epilators. there are some drawbacks to using those as well ( your skin isn't as soft as when shaving and at times hair can grow in)overall…with time you will have only 50% of your hair left.
They exist, and they work… kind of.
They work like a mens electric razor. if your hair grows slowly, it will work fine, but require you to shave daily or every other day. if your hair grows faster, like a mans facial hair, you could get 5:00 shadow on your legs by the end of the day. these razors cut the hair off just above the surface, whereas a blade cuts the hair off just at or below the surface, and waxing tears the hair out below the surface.
It pulls the hairs out. Search google for epilady.

I was given an electric razor as a teen (admittedly about 20 years ago). They work OK, but unless they've improved a lot since then, you don't get nearly as close a shave.

Okay so I've had the braun electric razor where it's rectangular, but I just bought another kind where it has the 3 circular razors on the top. the bad thing for me about that is that the razor on the back that you use for side burns and stuff is small. Plus it makes me nervous to shave under my neck, specifically my adam's apple b/c sometimes it tugs either my skin or a hair. I know some have said it takes at least a month to get used to it, but I need advise. does anyone use the rectangular type? I love that version b/c i'd use the sideburn part to shave with and it worked. it was wide enough, but the main razor part never did squat.
