Hand Cream For Dry Skin Does Not Have to Contain Artificial Chemicals

Hand cream for dry skin is something that I know about as I have suffered with dry skin, especially on my hands, for many years. I had looked for the best hand cream for dry skin but never found one that was exceptionally good. after training as an aromatherapist I used to use essential oils blended in a fixed oil because I knew that treatment didn’t contain any unwanted chemicals that could be toxic to my body.

Although using an oil blend helped the skin to feel soft it always seemed to take a while for the oil to absorb into the skin and so my hands would feel oily for a few minutes. One of the best oils that I found was bensoin. Another oil, that was part of a hand cream, that I used when my skin was inflamed and split was hemp oil and although the cream contained artificial chemicals I found that using it now and again would ease my symptoms.

The problem with many bought skin care products are that they contain glycerin, which in fact dries out the skin with constant use, perfume, that can contain up to 300 different aromas to make a scent and many of these aromas are toxic and parabens, an inexpensive preservative that is definitely toxic and has been linked to changes in oestrogen levels in the body.

It is because of the above reasons that I rarely used bought hand cream for dry skin and is also why, until now, I hadn’t discovered the best hand cream for dry skin.

In my opinion anything that we put on our skin should be safe and not toxic and unfortunately most brands of skin care products cannot offer a completely safe, effective product.

The break through, for me, came after a friend bought me some skin care for my birthday. She knew how I felt about artificial chemicals and assured me that these products were different, and they are. there is not one artificial toxic filler or chemical in them, they are made from all natural ingredients; some of which are very specialised in working with the cells of the body to hold on to moisture, destroy enzymes that are responsible for aging and stimulate increased production of collagen and elastin.

I love using these products every day, and unlike the oil treatment that I used to use, they are not greasy and are easily absorbed into the skin. As far as I’m concerned they have the best hand cream for dry skin ever and since I have started using it my skin is no longer split or inflamed and it has even reduced an area of urticara, on my ankle, to almost nothing.

I can’t rate these products highly enough.

Try This Secret Herbal Age Spot Remover

Age spots, also known as liver spots, don’t have as much to do with aging as you may think. in this article we’ll take a quick look at what causes these blemishes and the options you have for removing them. I especially want to tell you about a natural herbal age spot remover you’d be well advised to try before doing anything drastic.

So, what causes age spots? Contrary to their name, age isn’t really the big problem. The sun is actually the main cause of these blemishes. Prolonged sun exposure causes abnormal amounts of the pigment melanin to be deposited in the skin. This eventually turns into brown blemishes.

What can you do to remove them?

There are several dermatological procedures that can fade or remove age spots. these really should be a last resort though, unless you are flat out desperate for whatever reason to get rid of these blemishes as quickly as possible.

Options range from fairly painless but expensive laser treatments to fairly painful and expensive chemical peels or dermabrasions. these all have to be administered by a doctor.

More than likely you are probably looking for a topical treatment though, and that should be your first course of action.

The most popular prescribed treatment will be Hydroquinone creams. while generally considered safe to use as a topical treatment, this bleaching agent have come under intense scrutiny to the point where the FDA proposed a ban on it in 2006. It is known to cause severe skin irritation in some cases.
Secret Herbal Ingredient

An extremely safe, natural age spot remover that I would highly recommend you try comes in the form of creams containing Extrapone Nutgrass root. The extract of this Indian herb has been proven to inhibit melanin by as much as 40%, and also has a proven skin lightening effect. you should allow about 4-6 weeks for results.

Another great thing about this extract is that it was originally developed to relieve skin irritation, so it will be really gentle and easy on your skin in addition to the marked whitening effect it provides.

Ultimately what you choose to use to relieve yourself of the brown spots is up to you. Just remember that harsh chemicals or expensive specialist procedures aren’t the only options available to you.

Buy a Skin Brightening System to Treat Hyperpigmentation

A skin brightening system from a professional skin care clinic can give you the help you need in lightening your skin and preventing it from becoming damaged by the ultraviolet rays of the sun. This system consists of three products in a kit – a daily microfoliant, and creams for use during the day and night. it is fragrance free and is suitable for use on all skin types.

Hyperpigmentation is a skin condition in which some areas of the skin may become darker than others. it can be caused by damage from overexposure to the sun, acne or inflammation of the skin pores. Even when you use the skin brightening system to reduce the darker color of the skin, you do have to be careful about the amount of time you spend in the sun, which is why you need to use the daily protection that comes with the system.

The Daily Microfoliant component of this skin brightening system consists of a rice-based enzyme powder. When you use it, this exfoliant extracts all the impurities from the pores of your skin leaving it noticeably clearer and smoother. To use it, you run your hands under warm water and then pour about a teaspoon of the powder into your hands.

Rub your hand together until you make a creamy paste. Use small circular motions to apply this paste to your face, taking care not to get any of the paste into your eyes. Massage your face in this manner for one minute and then wash off the paste thoroughly with clean water.

The powder reacts instantly with the water on your hands to release rice activates, papain and salicylic acid that accelerate the renewal of the cells in the facial skin and make it feel soft and smooth, like any Skinceutials product would. some of the other natural ingredients in Daily Microfoliant include bearberry, aspergillus, grapefruit, and licorice, all of which have healing properties for the skin.

The second component of the skin brightening system, Day Bright, works to illuminate, protect and brighten your skin throughout the day. it contains a sun blocking agent as well as eleven botanical agents that brighten the skin while helping to balance uneven pigmentation.

It lightens the shadows that tend to make some areas of your face seem darker than others. it starts to work instantly and will make your face fell refreshed. This product should be used on a daily basis after you use the microfoliant. First dry your face and apply a small amount to your face using your fingertips.

To offer you protection for a full twenty-four hours, the Night Bright component of the skin brightening system works while you sleep. The botanical ingredients work beneath the outer layer of the skin to restore balance and promote healing, similar to how an acne care system operates. you should apply a thin layer of this moisturizer to your face and neck every night before you go to bed.

As with all skin care products, you should not expect to see results overnight. you do have to use the components of the skin brightening system on a daily basis for at least two months before you will see a visible difference in your skin. While you are using it, you will feel a lot better because your skin will feel healthy and have a healthy glow. you also have the assurance that you are giving it the protection it needs using natural ingredients.

The Unusual Origins Of Barrier Cream

Barrier creams and their various derivatives are taken for granted today. Few people realise that the foundations of these products dates back thousands of years.

Evidence exists that show the Ancient Egyptians experimented with lotion mixtures that were intended to provide skin protection.

It was not until 1872 that the traditional barrier cream that we know today was formulated.

During 1859, Robert Augustus Chesebrough, a young, British born chemist, was in Titusville, Pennsylvania visiting the oil fields looking for useful by-products of this newly discovered fuel. Here, Chesebrough notice that the oil rig workers had an unconventional method of treating the cuts that they frequently suffered during the course of their hard manual work.

Rod wax collected around the pump rods on the oil wells. This sticky waste product had to be routinely removed as it hindered the efficient running of the equipment at the well head. what Chesebrough saw fascinated him. Oil workers often took a handful of the otherwise unwanted rod wax and used it for protecting fresh cuts and wounds. Such was their confidence in its abilities that they dispensed with using bandages at all. It was claimed that the rod wax not only protected the wound, but it halted any bleeding and also lead to quicker healing times.

It is likely that the beneficial side effects of rod wax were stumbled upon by chance. perhaps a worker responsible for removing the waste from the pump rod heads had suffered cuts and realised that the injuries on his hands, that were covered with this otherwise unwanted waste, healed quicker than the cuts he suffered on other parts of his body.

The exact details of the original discovery may be uncertain but this did not impact Chesebrough’s almost instant realisation of the commercial potential that was unfolding before him.

Chesebrough’s search for a valuable by-product of the oil industry was over, but his real work was just beginning.

For over 10 years, Robert Chesebrough refined and perfected the new health care petroleum jelly as it was to become known.

Using himself as a guinea pig, Chesebrough even cut and burnt his own body in order to test the various guises of the petroleum jelly that he was devising. Chesebrough’s use of the oil-based jelly was not confined to rubbing it on the skin. he also took the, perhaps foolhardy, step of swallowing a teaspoonful a day to promote inner body health. just imagine the taste of that. Indeed, Chesebrough was hopeful that he had stumbled upon a wonder, cure-all treatment.

Working mostly from home, Chesebrough soon realised that he needed additional storage capacity to hold the increasing quantities of jelly substances that he was producing. This was a problem that the fledgling chemist solved with his usual practical, no nonsense approach. Flower vases, which were abundant in his typically Victorian household, were the obvious, if somewhat unconventional, choice.

Emptied of foliage and water, the vases proved to be excellent vessels in which to hold the ever growing quantities of the petroleum jelly. In fact, so useful were these vases that Chesebrough devised the name Vaseline to refer to his fledgling medicinal product (elaion being the Greek word for oil).

Vaseline was first patented in 1872. from that date, the barrier cream product that we are all familiar with become a permanent feature in the minds of consumers.

1872 might have been a defining date, but in some respects the launching of the first patented barrier cream also proved to be a partial failure for the young British Chemist.

Chesebrough’s initial claims that the petroleum jelly was a miracle cure-all, stating that it had even aided his recovery from pleurisy, were not substantiated by scientific studies. However, Vaseline is today recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as an approved, over-the-counter skin protectant.

Petroleum jelly has many beneficial properties. In the sphere of skin protection, it is used mainly to prevent dust, grime, dirt and other skin irritants from coming in direct contact with the epidermis.

In providing a protective covering for the skin, petroleum jelly also inhibits sources of infection from direct contact with the skin.

Unfortunately, as beneficial as petroleum jelly is, today’s modern lifestyles has impacted its usefulness.

Traditional barrier creams have to be renewed every time your hands go near soap and water. Traditional barrier creams have a tendency to cover the skin with an enduring greasy, slippery and sticky film. This film can persist and lead to the blocking of the skin’s pores and prevent the natural process of perspiration. Manual dexterity can also be impeded, especially if your hands are left feeling sticky or slippery. Wearing protective items such as gloves can be a problem if used in conjunction with many barrier creams. often, a thick and greasy barrier cream can become clogged and feel uncomfortable when constrained by tight fitting clothing.

Technological advancement and the need to find more cost effective solutions has lead to a new approach to skin protection.

Today’s skin care products have superseded traditional barrier creams and leave the skin feeling natural and clean – suddenly, you normal everyday work routine is not encumbered by greasy, slippery, tacky residues left on your hands.

The modern mousse based applications are water resistant and remain effective for four to five hours – even after repeated washing. if you work where hygiene is of the utmost importance, or you just want to keep your home spotless, there is no need to reach for the barrier cream tube every time you wash your hands.

As an additional property, the modern skin protectant not only inhibits contact with skin irritants but it also moisturises and aids recovery of any existing skin damage. Combined, these properties are of particular benefit for those people who are prone to suffer from contact dermatitis and/or dry skin conditions.

The oil industry has advanced considerably since the early days of 1859. Likewise, skin protection products have similarly improved. The Egyptians, resplendent in their ancient society would have undoubtedly offered their blessings for the developments that has led to traditional barrier creams being superseded by more advanced products.

Hand Crank Vs Electric Ice Cream Makers

The ice cream maker, whether hand cranked or electric, does something few other appliances can; and that is to grace you with memories of great tasting ice cream and the fun you had making it for years to come.

If memory serves, the first ice cream maker my Dad bought some forty odd years ago was a four quart electric with a blue plastic tub (manufacturer unknown) which reliably served up gallon after gallon of the most God awful ice cream I ever tasted.

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t the machine’s fault. The problem was Dad’s relentless pursuit of the perfect Tutti Frutti recipe – whatever that is.

Thankfully, my brother got his own place and picked up a 6 quart White Mountain hand cranker at a flea market. Plain old vanilla never tasted so good.

Aside from the obvious difference between manual and electric power, there are some other differences you may or may not have thought about.

Noise
It’s amazing how important the noise level, or the lack thereof, of a particular product is in influencing someone’s buying decision. If you think a space heater is noisy, an electric ice cream maker will drive you to distraction.

Equipment Failure
Most ice cream maker complaints are the result of operator error rather than mechanical breakdown. And the few mechanical complaints you do read about are always motor failure related.

A hand crank machine, having fewer moving parts, will be less prone to service interuptus.

Portability
Since a hand cranked model requires no electricity you can take it anywhere. If you’re going out for the day on a picnic you can put the mixture in a plastic bag and throw it in the cooler. for longer trips you can cook the mix fresh on a camp stove.

Speed
By speed I mean the time it takes to crank out a batch of ice cream. most electric models take about half an hour before they stop – signaling completion. while a hand crank mixer can finish the job in as little as twenty minutes if you have the right person cranking away.

Cost
There aren’t a lot of choices as far as manufacturers go, but the 4 quart White Mountain hand crank freezer for example runs $15 – $30 less than the similar sized electric driven model.

Fun
I think watching my 8 year old great nephew with biceps like pepperoni sticks cranking away with both hands with that determined look on his face is something I’ll remember long after the whine of an electric motor fades from memory.

Wrinkle Fighter For Mature Skin

Most of know that when we hit our mid-forties, the signs of mature skin are everywhere on our bodies. You may have dark spots on your face, hands, arms and chest, partly due to hormonal changes but largely due to years of intermittent sun exposure. You have much drier skin, due to a natural decline in hormones. The dermis, which is 70 percent collagen, loses mass and volume as your natural collagen levels decline. this brings on fine lines on your face and hands. Years of smiling and frowning have formed dynamic wrinkles near your mouth and eyes.

Your muscles and bones are no longer as strong and vibrant as they once were, so the underlying structure of your face is not as voluminous, particularly near the jaw line. Gravity is taking its toll too-sagging occurs at the eyes, jowls, or neck. this caused by the loss of the intercellular matrix that holds our skin together. even your hair is not the same-it is lighter in color and texture. for men, and even most women, the hairline starts receding.

Sounds awful, doesn’t it? It happens to all of us, however. And, in this age we now have many treatments that can actually reverse the damage. Over the last decade, surgical procedures have increased more than 1,000 percent, from roughly 100,000 per year to 1,600,000. During that time, the number of plastic surgeons in this country has tripled.

Surgery is not for everyone. So, if you opt for a nonsurgical wrinkle fighter, try washing your face and neck with gentle cleansers, moisturize with a day cream that contains sunscreen, and at night, use a heavier moisturizer, and don’t forget to apply it to your neck, hands and forearms.

Use AHA moisturizers on the rest of your body. You might also use it on your face in combination regimen with Retin-A, which will show remarkable improvement.

Contrary to what some people believe, patients over fifty-five benefit more than others from bioengineered topical treatment. The visible results from creams containing EGF,KGF,MPI, or IGF are astonishing. The effects are much more remarkable than those from nontechnical botanical creams such as Kinerase or StriVectin SD, the stretch mark cream that many people now use on their face. The changes are even more remarkable when accompanied by a lower-calorie, sugar free diet and even a minimal amount of exercise. No other age group shows such immediate and dramatic results. In only a couple of weeks, these patients have fewer wrinkles, smoother skin, and a brighter overall tone.
