Herbs for Cardiovascular Health

If you are a true fitness buff you would care a lot about heart health. you would go all out for all-natural food. and knowing what you could about herbs for cardiovascular health is definitely a plus factor here. some herbs help a lot in the smooth flow of blood circulation, particularly the ample supply of blood to the extremities (toes, fingers, legs). some strengthen blood vessel walls. We can name a few of them here:

Cayenne Pepper. Its capsaicin content helps prevent unwanted blood clots and lowers cholesterol. it also helps for more elastic veins, arteries, and capillaries and that spells a healthy cardiovascular system.

Hawthorn. The antioxidant present in its leaves, fruit, and flower can help prevent atherosclerosis. it also helps the liver get rid of cholesterol.

Valerian. if you need to calm down your nervous system, pacify your hypertension, or control being hyperactive, panic, anxiety, distress and other emotions that may affect cardiovascular function, valerian is a good remedy.

Blueberries. Blueberries that contain flavonoids plus a special anthocyanoside antioxidant (like bilberries) are good for blood vessel health.

But some experts think Allium Sativa, or garlic, is still the best among herbs for cardiovascular health. it lowers triglyceride and cholesterol levels, increasing the good cholesterol HDL. it also lessens plaque in the arteries and protects the aorta, which has a big and major role in our heartbeats.

But if garlic is so good for heart health, wild garlic is even more. Scientifically known as Allium Ursinum, wild garlic has a stronger potency for overall heart health than ordinary garlic. What ordinary garlic does, wild garlic does double. But the good news is, it does not have the offensive smell and taste ordinary garlic has.

In Asia, the best garlic are the smaller, native ones. they have stronger potency than their bigger counterparts, but so is their smell. Aside from being used in cooking, they are also used for normalizing blood pressure, as a muscle relaxant, pain relief, and toothache anesthetic among others. The beauty in using garlic is its easy availability. it is sold in wet markets and even small community stores in Southeast Asia. and it is affordable to people from all walks of life.

Some herbs, like garlic, are easy to grow. Generally, they need cultivated soil and just enough sunlight and water. better to enjoy organic herbs planted right in your backyard for better cardiovascular health.
If you are tight on the budget but want a fit and healthy heart, add herbs for cardiovascular health in your diet. better, grow them in your backyard.

Ginseng – The Perfect Body Tonic and Anti-Aging Supplement for All

Ginseng is the most famous Chinese herb, and it is the most widely recognized plant used in traditional medicine – with a legendary reputation as an overall body tonic, rejuvenator and anti-aging supplement.

If you have not used Ginseng then you should consider it as part of your overall health regime.

Types of Ginseng

The Chinese have used ginseng in medicine for more than 7000 years, and today it is one of the world’s most popular supplements.

There are three main species of ginseng, Oriental, Siberian and American. all three forms share many common elements – there are however subtle differences between them:

Oriental Ginseng (Panax Ginseng)

Is grown in both China and Korea. Red panax, as grown by the Koreans is the most popular form of ginseng. it gets its name from the processing of the root, which turns it red.

White Oriental ginseng on the other hand is the ginseng root, which has been allowed to dry naturally.

American Ginseng (Panax Quinquefolium)

Used to be plentiful in the United States however, excessive harvesting in recent years has seen it become scarcer. Today, only licensed ginseng harvesters are allowed to harvest wild ginseng.

Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus Senticocus)

In fact, Siberian ginseng is not actually ginseng at all, but is a derivative of the Oriental species.

It is a distant cousin to panax ginseng found in the Orient. while Siberian ginseng shares many of the same properties of the Oriental species, it is easier to cultivate and is generally cheaper.

Ginseng is an adaptogen, in that it normalizes physical functioning depending on what the individual needs. For example, it lowers high blood pressure, but raises low blood pressure.

It is used to reduce the effects of stress, improve performance, boost energy levels, enhance memory, and stimulate the immune system.

Research has shown that Ginseng support the central nervous system, liver function, lung function and circulatory system.
Ginseng therefore acts as a general tonic for the whole body.

Men have used the herb to improve sexual function and remedy impotence for centuries.

Ginseng is used in the treatment of menopausal symptoms, as it increases estrogen levels in women.

Prevention and Cure

Oriental medicine sees ginseng as an essential element in a wide range of prescriptions, and regards it as both a preventative and a cure.

It is said to remove both mental and body fatigue, cure pulmonary complaints, dissolve tumors, and reduce the effects of ageing.

Ginseng is used for:

Radiation and chemotherapy protection

Appetite stimulation

Ginseng is prescribed to restore memory, and enhance concentration and cognitive abilities – which are impaired by improper blood supply to the brain.

Ginseng contains vitamins A, B-6, and the mineral Zinc, which aids in the production of thymic hormones, necessary for the functioning of the defence system.

The main active ingredients of ginseng are the more than 25 saponin triterpenoid glycosides called ginsenosides.
These ingredients provide the adaptogenic properties that enable ginseng to balance, and counter the effects of stress.

The glycosides seem likely to act on the adrenal glands, helping to prevent adrenal hypertrophy and excess corticosteroid production in response to physical, chemical or biological stress.

Ginseng and other Essential Herbs

Ginseng works well by itself – but when combined with other herbs, further health benefits result.

Kenwood Kac-8105D 1000-Watt Class D Mono Amplifier is my first car audio amp iv'e ever owned and i would have to say im a kenwwod fan for life. I had it professionally hooked up but it looked pretty simple to do for the diy. I live in Florida and it's too hot in the summer to be spending any time outside without a giant fan on blowing on you. But anyway this is a really loud amp when wired at 2ohm to my 12" MB Quart sub. It makes it sound fantastic, and the lights are pretty cool looking at night.

Epoxy Resin Bar Top

Most bars, nightclubs and restaurants have epoxy bar tops. it is shiny, clear, thick surface, sometimes with some objects inside. Coins, cards and other small item you seen inside clear resin.

What material do they use to build those bar tops and what the process?

Most of the time it is 2 parts chemicals mixed with 1:1 ration. The process is complicated and done by professionals only. part #1 is epoxy resin and the part #2 is hardener. there are different types of epoxy, based on what you want to accomplish.

Table top resin – main purpose is for table tops, bar tops and any other horizontal surfaces with perfect flat finish. Casting resin/epoxy – used to make molds or building up thickness. If used correctly, may have perfect final surface. Spray Epoxy – this epoxy you can place in spray gun and apply like a lacquer. Sprays in thin layers and grabs pretty quick.

Have you ever seen someone working with epoxy – it is very interesting process.

Area around the bar gets covered with protective film to prevent any spills to get on the floor.

Surfaces get wiped several times with different liquids to completely remove any fat deposits from fingerprints to prevent “fish eye”. Process of poring resin on the bar top normally done in several layers. so if you want to place small objects inside epoxy/resin bar top – you can do it between coats.

Resin bar tops are very durable. Surface is hard to scratch and easy to clean. If done correctly it will serve you for 10 years and more.

Can you do it yourself, yes. it is absolutely important to find epoxy supplier who not only work with epoxy but also willing to give you directions on how to work with product and willing to guide you through the process.

How to Lower Blood Pressure Using a Natural Treatment

More often than not, stress is a contributory factor to high blood pressure. When we feel relaxed, so is everything actually in our body, including our blood vessels. As we have seen, it’s the constriction and restriction of the blood vessels which causes high blood pressure so anything which causes these to dilate or relax is beneficial.

Here are some alternative ways to treat high blood pressure using herbs, aromatherapy and yoga.

Lemon Balm – (melissa officinalis)

This is a green leafy herb, similar in appearance to mint and almost as easy to grow. The herb is so-called because it’s leaves have a lemony scent. It is known for it’s calming and relaxing effects, and has a strengthening effect on the muscles. It was introduced to Britain in 4th C by the Romans and is also good for digestion, abdominal cramps, stress and nerves. The essential oil is good as an insect repellent but, as with all essential oils, should never be taken internally. Lemon balm leaves are wonderful in salads or used as marinade for chicken and fish. this herb should not be used by pregnant women because it relaxes the cervical muscles.

Stinging nettles have been useful in the treatment of arthritis and are full of vitamin C. they stimulate and cleanse the body and improve heart function. believe it or not, they actually make good tea. Pick the top fresh shoots from the plant and follow the instructions on the left to make herbal tea.

Hawthorne relaxes muscles, stimulates heart metabolism and strengthens heart contractions. It also causes the blood vessels to dilate and improves blood supply to the heart. Hawthorne can be found in English hedgerows and was believed to have magical properties in pagan times. It is usually the berries that are used medicinally. you should never take Hawthorne without the advice of your GP AND a herbalist. to find a herbalist look at the useful contact listing at the bottom of this article.

Other useful Herbs

Fennel, black pepper, ginger, oregano, basil, tarragon and hyssop all contain compounds which can help to lower blood pressure. Fennel and ginger also make delicious herbal teas and combine well with lemon balm.

Aromatherapy oils are easy and safe alternatives if they are used correctly. they should never be taken internally or applied neat on the skin, except in the case of lavender and tea tree oil. you can either burn 5-8 drops in an oil burner or make your own massage oil by diluting 5-10 drops in 10ml of almond oil. choose oils that have relaxing and calming properties. try rose, ylang ylang, marjoram, lavender, cypress, chamomille, clary sage and rosewood.

Yoga can also help to reduce high blood pressure because it stretches, elongates and massages the blood vessels which improves circulation and encourages the blood vessels to remain soft. Stress can also increase blood pressure and yoga, with it’s relaxing principles can help combat that. It is worth noting that yoga is also a weight bearing exercises because some of the poses require you to hold up your own body weight. Weight bearing exercise can help to prevent osteoporosis, a disease which affects one third of women and two thirds of men over the age of 50. Remember that all these are only a few from the natural ways to lower blood pressure. many other useful information will be published in further articles regarding lowering blood pressure using a natural treatment.
