Can I buy prescription sunglasses with no prescription?

I'm looking for a new pair of sunglasses. I don't want to spend more than $40, so I'm not going to get designer glasses. However, cheaper alternatives seem to be just that — cheap.

On the other hand, prescription glasses can be purchased online at several sites cheaply, and many of them can be made into sunglasses. Since I have good vision, I don't have any sort of prescription and would rather not have to get an appointment to get a prescription.

So: Can I buy prescription sunglasses without a prescription, or would they distort or hurt my vision?

Well, you shouldn't and you can't. if you try to but RX eyewear online, they will want to know all our your RX info and your Dr. Which if you make up, you will be denied the purchase because they will call to verify it with your doctor.

Plus, why would you want to? Wearing a RX when you don't need one is not going to be good for your eyes, plus you won't be able to see! And what is the point of that?!

Try Ebay or Craigslist instead for plano (non rx) sunglasses. People often buy many pairs of these, or no longer need them, so you can get what you're looking for (maybe even designer!) for a good deal within your budget.
